Outreach is at the heart of Rejoice in the Lord Ministries. We believe the love of Christ is meant to be shared beyond the church walls—through service, compassion, and intentional action. Our outreach ministry exists to meet real needs, uplift lives, and bring hope to our community and beyond. Jesus called us to love others, serve faithfully, and care for those in need. At Rejoice, outreach is not just something we do—it’s who we are. We are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ by showing God’s love in practical, meaningful ways. Through outreach, we aim to:

Food Drives for the Homeless

Providing meals and support to those experiencing homelessness.

Literacy Outreach for Families

Need to Read (N2R) is a visionary initiative created by Pastor Roderick and Vanessa Zak to combat childhood illiteracy. N2R works to eliminate barriers to literacy by equipping families and caregivers with the tools and resources they need to help children develop strong reading skills from birth.

N2R hosts engaging events at childcare centers, Head Starts, and elementary schools that bring families and communities together to celebrate literacy. Our programs include:

  • Parenting Workshops: Helping parents and caregivers foster early literacy in the home.

  • Interactive Literacy Events: Featuring storytelling, games, and fun activities to encourage a love of reading.

  • Book Bundles: Delivering carefully curated sets of books to families, ensuring children have access to high-quality reading materials at home.

  • Community Engagement: Partnering with organizations like Lift Orlando, YMCA, and Universal Foundation to expand literacy outreach and support local families.

Through these efforts, we aim to create a brighter future for every child, one page at a time.

N2R focuses on addressing one of the most significant challenges facing our nation: the cycle of low literacy. Research shows that 43% of children enter kindergarten unprepared, and 85% of a child’s brain develops before the age of 5. By engaging parents, caregivers, and educators, we work to create a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
